Paddle to the Pub
Pints and poutine après paddlePaddles and pints are a natural combination, as the newest Lakefield pub well knows, so we’ve partnered with them to offer this classic package that includes an guided canoe trip down historic Eels Creek and High Falls or across Lake Katchewanooka, rich in both wetland species as well as history, including islands haunted by the most beautiful ghost in Ontario. We pull out just meters from the Canoe and Paddle Pub’s stacked-wall patio to enjoy a pint and a plate with our paddle mates.
All our paddling excursions begin with a dock-talk and a lesson to help ensure our party paddles swiftly and safely along our course.

Paddle to the Pub
Susan Thompson
Bretton and I worked together at Trent University, so when he mentioned his adventure business, I was intrigued. We discussed several places to paddle and settled on Eel’s Creek, because I wanted to try my hand at some entry level whitewater. I have my own canoe, but the Land provided all the additional gear, refreshments and even a shuttle service, and before the trip, Bretton even helped me load my boat on my own vehicle. Afterwards, we hit the Canoe and Paddle Pub in Lakefield for pints and snacks. It was a lovely day on the water, and I look forward to paddling with the Land again.
